California, drinking water is regulated by the State Water Resources Control Board which is responsible for providing the regulations governing response to the severe drought in the state .
O’Connor Water deals regularly with the State Water Resources Control Board Drinking Water Division on water quality issues.
O’Connor water is one of several water agencies serving the area . This includes the Cities of East Palo Alto, Menlo Park and Palo Alto as well as the Palo Alto Park Mutual Water Company, which are all municipal or non-profit co-operative water companies. In addition, an investor owned utility, CalWater, owns and operates the water system that serves a portion of Menlo Park.
